Service and repairs
I offer three levels of service. “The Basic” (see below) is ideal if your bike is generally in good condition, however your gears may not be changing smoothly, or your brake pads are rubbing. “The Essentials” service provides a basic clean and a check, lube and tune of all moving parts and ideally should be completed once a year for regularly ridden bikes. “The Works” service goes a step further with additional cleaning and lubing of the derailleur components, a more thorough service of the critical headset and bottom brackets and your bike and drivetrain thoroughly cleaned and degreased. I also have a $20 kid's bike discount. Level 1 "The Basic" Single speeds - $70 Geared bikes - $90 MTBs & e-bikes - $100 e-MTBs - $120 This service includes the following if relevant to the bike: check and adjust headset. Minor true of wheels on bike. Inspect and tune front and rear derailleurs including straightening rear derailleur hanger. Check brake pads, align pads/calipers. Inspect, lube and adjust brake cables. Inspect and lube drive train. Inspect and lube shifter cables. Inspect suspension fork seals and clean stanchions. Inspect and clean rear shock dust seal. Inspect and clean dropper post dust seal. Check fasteners. Check tyres and adjust tyre pressures. Perform test ride. Level 2 “The Essentials” Single speeds - $140 Geared bikes - $160 MTBs & e-bikes - $170 e-MTBs - $190 This service includes the following if relevant to the bike: Bike clean*. Check and adjust headset. True wheels on truing stand. Check and adjust wheel hub bearings. Check bottom bracket. Check pedals. Inspect and tune front and rear derailleurs including straightening rear derailleur hanger. Inspect and lube shifter cables. Inspect, lube and adjusted brake cables. Check brake pads and replace if required, align pads/calipers. Inspect, clean and lube drive train. Replace chain and cassette if required. Inspect suspension fork seals and clean stanchions. Inspect and clean rear shock dust seal. Inspect and clean dropper post dust seal. Check fasteners. Check tyres and adjust tyre pressures. Perform test ride. *Items in italics are additional to the Level 1 service. Level 3 “The Works” Single speeds - $210 Geared bikes - $230 MTBs & e-bikes - $240 e-MTBs - $260 This service includes the following if relevant to the bike: Thorough* bike clean. Remove fork and service headset. True wheels on truing stand. Check and adjust wheel hub bearings. Remove cranks and inspect bottom bracket. Check pedals and lubricate cleat mechanism. Inspect and tune front and rear derailleurs including straightening rear derailleur hanger. Lube derailleur pivot points and remove, clean and lube jockey wheels. Inspect and lube shifter cables. Clean and lube shifter pods. Inspect, lube and adjusted brake cables. Check brake pads and replace if required, align pads/calipers. Remove, ultrasonic clean and lube drive train (chain, cassette, chain ring/s). Replace chain and cassette if required. Inspect suspension fork seals and clean stanchions. Inspect and clean rear shock dust seal. Inspect and clean dropper post dust seal. Check fasteners. Check tyres and adjust tyre pressures. Perform test ride. *Items in italics are additional to the Level 2 service. I have in stock a large range of common replacement parts for most types of bikes. If not in stock, I can order in parts as required, usually taking 2 to 4 days for delivery. If your bike cannot be off the road for this length of time, please drop by for a quick diagnostic check so that I can order parts in advance of your service or you can borrow one of my curtesy bikes while your bike is in for the service. I’m also happy to install parts that you supply. I also have a stock of good quality second hand parts that have many more kilometers left in them.
